CEC’s Shanghai stop in 2018 saw a total of 134 drivers compete in the races, with two major car groups on the track racing together. Such a high number of drivers and cars on the track together is unique in Chinese domestic racing. Now going into its second season, CEC is focusing more attention on the quality of the racing, refining the regulations so that drivers at different levels and with different budgers can competefairly among their racing peers. CEC’s organizers have also made efforts to expand the appeal of the weekends’ events to include the whole family, going from a pure competition to something meaningful that everyone can enjoy.

China’s car racing scene has developed rapidly in recent years. As the highest level of national motorsport championships, the China Endurance Championship has profound sporting and cultural impact on this development, as well as huge commercial potential. The 2019 season will see further developments of this trend, with CEC continuing to build a fair and competitive professional international racing competition, setting the domestic standard for all.

New Event Setup Optimizes Competition Experience

The National Group remains with its 2.0NA and 1.6NA subdivisions renamed to National Group A and National Group B respectively.
